Gardens Medical Group is comprised of experienced General Practitioners (GPs) who are dedicated to your general health and wellbeing. As GP's, our purpose is to provide comprehensive medical care for children and adults of all ages. Women's Health Clinic

At Gardens Medical Group we have a Women's Health Clinic led by Dr Elizabeth Farrell every Friday from 9am-3pm.


Our women's health appointment's include a full comprehensive woman's health check and wide range of specialties and focus areas, such as birth control, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), breast checks and gynaecology.

Procedures

At Gardens Medical Group, we carry out a wide range of procedures to help our patients with their general health care. These include ECGs, audiograms, spirometry, minor excisions, implants, wound dressings and many more. Resources such as suture materials, dressings, bandages, plaster and associated equipment and its sterilising will incur a non-medicare rebatable cost.

 

We strive to keep our prices affordable. A facility & supply fee will be payable at the time of the consultation and a further out-of-pocket fee on this procedure will be invoiced to you when we receive your results.

The Procedure Fee will be invoiced when your doctor receives your results.


personal & occupational Medicals

We offer a variety of medicals including Pre-employment medicals, Aviation Medicals, Commercial Driver Medicals, Online RTA Forms, and Truck-safe Medicals provided by our Expert Clinical Team.


Aviation Medicals are available on level 3 by appointment and can only be performed by our C.A.S.A. accredited practitioner, Dr Michael Thomas. To make an appointment contact the clinic on 02 6021 3555.


Our personal and occupational health facility, Occmedi, is located on level 4 providing all aspects of occupational health. Our team of doctors are Doctor Alan Dyason, Doctor Michael Seymour, and Doctor Woo Tan. You can contact the Occmedi clinic on 02 6058 6175.


Visa Immigration Medicals

Our trained Gardens Medical practitioners: Dr Alan Dyson and Dr Michael Seymour, partner with BUPA to provide medicals for your VISA application. We aim to streamline this process for you with all services, including pathology and x-ray, in the one building. We then upload your results to BUPA within 5 to 7 business days of your medical.

Prescriptions 

At Gardens Medical Group our patients have the option of requesting a repeat prescription without being seen by a doctor. We just ask that you provide us with the correct medication name and strength so we can process your request quickly and efficiently. 


We require 48 hours’ notice for all script requests. Scripts can also be requested online via our hotdoc booking system.


This practice is registered with the Medicare Prescription Shopping Information Service Program, which alerts Doctors to drug-seeking patients.


Our practice does not prescribe S8 drugs.


A fee applies for all script requests outside of a consultation. Prepayment is required at the time of the request.


Test Results 

We understand that waiting for test results can be anxious and stressful. We make every effort to get results back as quickly as possible however, please be proactive with your own health and call to find out your results. Results are available between 9.00 am – 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. If the results nurse is engaged on another call, please leave your name and number on the voicemail, and they will return your call as soon as possible.Our practice uses an SMS messaging system to inform patients regarding their results. This can be set up in your consultation once your consent is given; please ask your Doctor about this system. Thank you for entrusting Gardens Medical Group with your general health care needs.


Vision & Hearing Impaired

At Gardens Medical Group, we are committed to providing high-quality health care to all patients, regardless of their individual needs. We know that some members of our community may have difficulty accessing general health care due to their visual or hearing impairment. 


For patients with vision or hearing impairment, we offer a range of services to ensure they receive the best possible care. Please let your doctor or a staff member know of your requirements, and they will be able to aid you where they can. We also offer a free interpreting service for patients who are deaf and use Australian Sign Language (AUSLAN).


Requesting a Transfer of Your Medical Records to another practice

In accordance with state and federal privacy regulations, we are committed to ensuring that all requests are processed in a timely and efficient manner. In order to transfer medical records, patients must sign a request form giving us authority to do so. The form should contain the name of the receiving practitioner or practice and the patient’s name, address, date of birth, and reason for the request.


There is a fee for the transfer of medical records and our Practice will send out an invoice to the patient prior to sending the records. Once the fee has been paid, we will process the request as soon as possible.

We understand that your medical records are personal and confidential and we take your security seriously. We take great care in handling your records with the utmost respect and in accordance with all relevant legislation. There may be occasions where we are required or authorised to transfer your medical records to another party. For example: 


  • If a court subpoenas your records
  • You request that your records be transferred to another healthcare provider 
  • Where an individual medical record report is requested from another source


In all cases, we will ensure that the transfer is made in a timely, authorised, and secure manner.


General Health Assessments

We offer general health assessments for people who may be at risk of developing type 2 diabetes or chronic disease or who are aged 75 years or older. We also offer health assessments for residents of Residential Aged Care Facilities, Physically and/or Intellectually disabled individuals, Indigenous community members, former serving members of the Australian Defence Force and Foreign members of our community.


Our general health assessment includes a comprehensive medical history, physical examination, and we may require a blood test and urine test. This service is run by our Chronic Disease Management Nurse Team. We also cross-check your family history and social history. We will also advise you on how to improve your overall health and well-being.
