Social Worker
My name is Kelvin. For many years, I have been helping others recover from the mental health issues they have been experiencing. Life can throw heaps of challenges at us. It is normal to feel overwhelmed but you don't have to face it alone. There are many ways I can support you in your mental health and wellbeing, and to help you navigate life's challenges.
My preferred approach is "narrative therapy", where "the person is not the problem, the problem is the problem". This type of therapy involves working with you to process the past, present and future; through the stories you tell. Everyone has a unique story to tell. Whether you're working, studying or trying to juggle family responsibilities, part of the healing process is to share your story with someone who cares. If narrative therapy isn't your cup of tea (or coffee), I am also flexible with CBT, DBT, ACT or family/relational work.
My style can best be described as "warm" and "laid-back". My experience across the lifespan as a mental health clinician, father, son, brother and friend, gives me a "big picture" perspective on the issue you're going through. Working with people from all walks of life, young, old, well-off or disadvantaged, further informs my practice.
In my spare time (which is hard to find sometimes!) , I like to go on hikes, hit the tennis courts, explore new places, or find a good show to watch.
